Introduction

This tab will include the types of formative assessment strategies that I did to assess the students such as a checklist, anecdotal notes, observations, questioning, and other strategies .

Formative assessment strategies

It is important to use a range of formative assessments because it helps the teacher to evaluate the students.  It also helps the teacher to know the child's level, so she can prepare the activities based on their level. It helps the teacher to improve student's learning (Reddy, 2016).

Slap it strategy

These are some pictures of the slap it strategy. I implement it this strategy into two ways. The first way is to slap the letter with the vowels and the positions. The second way it to slap the letters. This strategy was effective because it suits all the levels.

Exit card strategy

These are some pictures of the exit card strategy that I implemented for the students. I created an A3 chart, and each student has to write the letter beside his name. At the begging, I faced some difficulties with the low ability students because they were coping from other students but then I tried to let the low ability students do the activity first then the other students.

Letter '' هـ".

Letter '' د".

Self-assessment  strategy

These are some pictures of the self-assessment strategy that I implement during center time. I did this strategy in two ways. Students have to write a letter using playdoh and then assessing themselves. The second way is to use the spicy balls to write the letter and then assess themselves. This strategy was effective, because students were able to reflect on their task. On the other hands, I found that takes time to implement this strategy because it depends on the child and how is fast to finish the task.

Assessment record sheet  strategy

These are some pictures of the assessment record sheet that I implement during center time. I did an assessment record sheet for the letter and for the sigh word. The strategy was effective because it gives me the exact level of each child, but I could not implement this strategy at the end of each week because of the school events.

Oral questioning strategy

These are some examples of oral questioning that I did during the lesson. I always write the key questions in my lesson plan and I write the questions based on the students’ level. This strategy is an easy strategy to implement and it does not take time. I implemented this strategy throughout the day. I was able to know the exact lvel of each child by implementing this strategy.

Spreadsheet

This is one of the strategies that I used to assess the student's learning. I did this spreadsheet for Arabic, Science, and Math. It is a 3,2,1 checklist. This spreadsheet helps me to scaffold the students in their learning and to prepare the activities for the students.

Anecdotal notes

This is one of the strategies that I used to assess the student's learning. I used this strategy a lot because it is helpful. Teacher can show the parents the anecdotal notes to helps their students and to improve their learning.  I used this strategy 2 to 3 times a week for 6 students. You will find one example of one child.
